Note to Self
Note to Self marked a significant transition for Voices in Your Head as the group took the plunge into the international a cappella community. The album received overwhelmingly positive reviews from the Recorded A Cappella Review Board. In 2009, the track “Magic” was chosen to appear on Ben Folds Presents: University A Cappella! In March of that year, Voices had the honor of opening for a crowd of several thousand at Folds’ Milwaukee concert. “Magic” also received high praise from The Associated Press, Entertainment Weekly, The Boston Globe, and Ben Folds himself, and was chosen to appear on the 2008 edition of Voices Only, an annual international compilation album. Note to Self’s opening track, “Supermassive Black Hole,” was selected for the 2009 edition of Voices Only.
