I Used to Live Alone

I Used to Live Alone is Voices’ fourth studio album and first-ever concept album (each song represents the different stages of a relationship). The album signifies the total plunge of Voices into the national a cappella scene; the album received 6 CARA nominations, winning runner-up for 2012’s Best Mixed Collegiate Album, and was listed as one of RARB‘s “Picks of the Year,” after receiving an overall score of 4.7.

The album’s opening track, “I’d Like To,” was selected to appear on compilation albums Voices Only 2010 and Best of Collegiate A Cappella (BOCA) 2011, won the 2012 CARA for Best Mixed Collegiate Arrangement, and was runner-up for the 2012 CARAs for Best Mixed Collegiate Song and Solo. “Boomerang,” a Voices original, was featured on international compilation album Sing 7: Lucky, and won the 2011 CARA for Best Scholastic Original. A second Voices original, “Sharp,” was featured on Sing 8: Too Cubed, and was nominated for the 2012 CARA for Best Scholastic Original. In November 2010, the group released a music video for “Resistance,” which has since racked up over 50K YouTube views. The Deluxe Edition of I Used to Live Alone includes the full 13-track album on Disc 1, and features 11 bonus instrumental tracks on Disc 2.
