Bring Me Back
The Opportunes are proud and excited to release their newest album, Bring Me Back. Like its predecessors, Bring Me Back is twelve tracks of pure, student-bred a cappella: each song is arranged, performed, and selected by group members. This album celebrates the group’s musical versatility, featuring R&B favorites alongside mellow country, mellifluous ballads, punchy pop and powerful gospel.
In accordance with long-standing tradition, the Opportunes have devoted the penultimate track to an elaborate pop medley framed around Shannon’s 1983 hit Let the Music Play. The result is a collection of recent radio chart-toppers that serves as a time capsule for the particular group of individuals who comprise the 2007-2009 Opportunes.
The album’s title is derived from the lyrics to its sixth track, “Gravity.” It refers to this special ballad and celebrates the life-force of the Opportunes, whose members are always welcome to come back.
Bring Me Back was recorded in The Attic Studio in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. It is 100% a cappella.
