Wassailicious

Wassailicious is an unfiltered piquant melange of full-bodied holiday neo-classics. Containing a mix of original and familiar holiday songs ranging in emotion from silly to inspiring, this CD is likely to become a regular feature in your holiday music collection. The Chromatics’ versatile style is shown to great effect here. Jazzy arrangements of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and "Festival Deck the Hall" cap both ends of this CD. The group’s lush harmonies and emotion are featured on a cover of The Roches’ "Star of Wonder" and on the Spanish "En la Noche", while four humorous songs - two original and two "traditional" - fill out the middle. The original "The Day After Christmas" reveals what Santa and his elves get up to after the rush of the season is over (apparently that story and the one of "Landlord Fill the Flowing Bowl" have some themes in common).
