Poor Wayfaring Stranger

The Swingle Singers are legendary among a cappella artists; as five-time Grammy winners, they fully deserve their reputation as one of the best acts in the business! So when I heard that they would be performing in my hometown of Eugene, Oregon, I knew that I had to try to get them to record with me. Thankfully, we were able to come together with my friend and arranger Tom Anderson to record a beautiful version of “Poor Wayfaring Stranger” - fitting, in that the classic folktune is well-known in both America and the Swingles’ home of England.

Every sound in the video was made by human voices, and was recorded in that exact room with the same microphone - what you see is what you get. The Swingle Singers really ARE that good, and we wanted to strip away a lot of the ‘recording enhancement’ that dominates most pop videos to showcase their awesome and inspiring talent. I’ve never felt so blessed to have worked with such talented artists on a project.
