Facing Clarence
"Facing Clarence" is the pride of the 2003-2005 UNC Clef Hangers and features 12 songs from a variety of different artists and genres. "Facing Clarence" was nominated for 2006 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARA‘s) for "Best Male Collegiate Album," "Best Male Collegiate Song" ("Crazy Train"), and "Best Male Collegiate Solo" (Anoop Desai on "She Will Be Loved"). Songs from "Facing Clarence" have also been featured on multiple collegiate a cappella compilation albums. Furthermore, American Idol star Anoop Desai is featured on four of the tracks ("Crazy Train," "She Will Be Loved," "Can You Stand the Rain," and "Carolina In My Mind"), which were recorded long before Anoop ever hit it big! Finally, "Facing Clarence" includes the most recent recorded version of "Carolina In My Mind," one of the Clefs’ signature songs and a favorite in Chapel Hill.
